Why is there only a small difference between the Single and Return fares?
Our operational costs are calculated on the basis that all journeys are return. Single tickets encourage a premium fare because they incur the risk that services are empty on the return journey. So although the Return fare is much more competitive, this in no way reflects on the Single fare price.
